Why Younger Adult Latina Women Don’t Keep In Touch With their Moms And Dads About Birth Prevention

Reports reveal that Hispanic teenagers are less likely to want to access intimate and reproductive wellness solutions compared to their white counterparts, and also this may make them at risk of intimately transmitted conditions (STDs) and unintended pregnancies. Usage of sexual and health that is reproductive offer females with practical details about reproductive choices, and that can provide use of contraception. Therefore, issue becomes, how come young adult Latinos shy far from getting intimate and reproductive wellness solutions?
At Child Trends, we conducted focus groups with 95 young adult Latina females many years 18-24 and 24 medical care providers to shed some light about this question. These focus teams showed, like other studies, that absence of insurance coverage, transport, and youngster care shaped young Latinas use of reproductive health solutions.
